How Our Service Works
1.strong>Software is installed -- We install the software program onto your computer system. Regardless of how many servers you have, it will only need to be loaded once, and the file will occupy approximately 75MB (laptop version is 15MB) of space. In a typical situation of one server, an installation will take an average of 20 minutes.

2.strong>Automated schedule established -- During the installation process, you will decide the frequency and time limits of your automated backup. This establishes when your software will be active. You will also register the number of generations you want stored in your vault. For an average client, we recommend 5 generations. These are the 5 most recent versions of your data changes. Once a version of changes becomes the sixth version, it is automatically pushed into your main body of data. One reason to have several versions of data is to allow a buffer. If, for example, a virus took 3 days to be detected you would be able to restore a version of the data free of the virus.

3.strong>Data is encrypted and compressed prior to offsite transfer -- Once the software activates itself, it will scan your data for any and all changes that have been made since the last transfer. It will break the data down into 4 KB bits, gather and encrypt only the changes, and transfer that bundle to your vault to be established as a generation. There are various levels of encryption offered to you for the data, all the way up to AES256 bit. Please consult with us regarding what level would meet the needs of your business.

4.strong>Data is transferred offsite and a report is generated -- The encrypted data is transferred over your existing Internet connection to our secure digital vault in our primary facility located in Marlborough, MA. In order for the transfer to take place, your Internet connection must be active at the time of the scheduled backup. A report indicating the transfer activity and data amount will be sent to you by e-mail.

5.strong>Data is held on hard drive disk for rapid online recovery -- If there is a loss of data, be it a single lost file or a complete loss of all data, the process to restore the information is simple and fast. The end user is instructed by the software to access the data and how to quickly place it back into the system. Our customer service department will assist you if necessary.

6.strong>Data is backed up again, providing a second offsite copy -- Our goal is to provide our clients with a very simple and reliable backup and recovery solution. We exist on the value of that reliability. We guarantee that your data will be there for you if you ever need it. To ensure that our guarantee is more than just words, we duplicate your copy for added insurance.
What Do We Offer?
Network Access Data Vaulting offers an automated offsite data backup solution designed for small and mid-sized businesses. We offer a software solution that automatically backs up your data, securely transfers it offsite, and makes it instantly accessible for recovery. The service is simple, convenient and affordable.

Why is automated offsite backup a good idea for a small business?
Your data is an important part of your business and it needs to be protected. The common things to worry about are fire, flood, sabotage, hardware failure, and things of that sort. If you had to reconstruct your data from scratch, you would face a huge inconvenience. Smaller companies often do not have the staff or the resources to implement a fully effective and convenient backup procedure. They are often forced to make due with inconsistent and risky methods. That is no longer necessary. Network Access Data Vaulting provides a reliable and affordable disaster recovery plan for your small business that includes all of the safeguards and technologies used by the larger Fortune 500 companies to protect their data. We give you the same peace of mind in knowing that your data is 100% safe and accessible.

What if I already have a backup procedure?
Every business has some sort of backup procedure (or else they are taking a very dangerous and unnecessary risk, and should call us immediately!) However, what kind of reliability and convenience does it provide? If you backup to tape, but never take them offsite, then you are not fully protecting yourself (fire, flood, etc.) And if you take them offsite, but forget or transport/store them so they are exposed to heat and humidity, you are compromising your chances of a successful restore. Tapes can damage and break. And there are always the variables of human error. These can be eliminated with an automated software solution.

Some companies choose to replace their old backup with our system. Some companies do both. It is up to you. But if you are going to compare the cost of one against the other, please take all aspects of cost into consideration. For example, besides the obvious cost reductions of eliminating license fees and not having to purchase cassette tapes or equipment anymore, look at the amount of time being spent on the task. Time is money. We can save you that money.

Can anybody else see my data?
We have taken all of the necessary steps to guarantee that nobody, except the people you authorize to do so, can see your data….not even us. We offer several levels of encryption, up to AES256 bit, which is much higher than what it takes to make that guarantee possible. You will also receive e-mail reports to tell you of the transfer activity and the amount of data stored.

Who will help me if there is a disaster?
Our interface is extremely user-friendly and simple for anyone to operate. However, we do provide customer service to any clients who require assistance. Please contact us at 1-888-NAC-1110 if you have any questions or would like an evaluation account at no charge.
